Defiant Yuvaraja College resumes interviews

The ongoing interviews for 48 posts of assistant professors had been stopped by the Secretary of Higher Education Department, R Somashekhar on September 24. He had asked the University of Mysore (UoM) to submit the approval obtained for the interview process within three days.

Yuvaraja College, a constituent college of University of Mysore, defied the orders and resumed the second round of the interviews which will continue for three days.

Somashekar told the media that the department had advised the college not to continue with the process. “But the authorities still carried out the interviews. We have taken it on a serious note and informed the additional chief secretary of the department.”

Interviews were conducted for the posts of assistant professors to the departments of electronics, environmental science, food science, physics and mathematics. Interviews for computer science, botany and zoology will be conducted today and tomorrow respectively.
