Demand for CBI probe into corruption charges against Mahadevappa

Chairman of Veera Kannadigara Makkala Balaga, S C Rajesha has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding a CBI probe against PWD Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa.

Addressing the media persons here in the city on Sunday, Rajesha said, “There are lot of corruption charges against Mahadevappa but no action has been initiated against him so far or officers including Chikkarayappa, special officer Janardhan, secretary to PWD Siddagangappa and internal finance adviser Chandrashekaraiah though various documents are available to prove charges against them. The Income tax sleuth recently seized large amount of illegal cash and documents pertaining to acquisition of illegal properties from the house of Chikkarayappa and Jayachandra who are close aides of Mahadevappa. But now the government claims that Anti-Corruption Bureau is probing the case and would continue the case. The case should not be handed over to ACB which is under the state government control.”

“Since ACB is under the control of the state government, we doubt the probe conducted by ACB officials will be fair. Hence we seek CBI probe. If it’s not handed over to the CBI, we will stage a protest in front Jantar Mantar in Delhi,” he added.

Basave Gowda, who had lodged a complaint against Mahadevappa with Lokayukta,  said that a few supporters of Mahadevappa are threatening him over phone. So I request the government to provide necessary security to me and my family.”
