Demand for closure of wine shop at village

Mysuru, December 16:- Villagers of Kenchalagudu and members of farmers association staged a protest on Friday, demanding closure of a wine shop on the Manantawadi main road outside the city. The wine shop was opened recently.

“Kenchalagudu village is at 1 km from the main road. The village  doesn’t have proper bus service. As the wine shop is on the main road, it is difficult for women and children to pass by. Alcoholics tease students and women in broad daylight. We have requested the authorities to cancel license of the wine shop, but no action has been taken so far,” alleged the protesters.

Marankaiah, Ananduru Prabhakara, Naganahalli Vijayendra, Mandakalli Mahesh and others were present. (MR/KS).
