Democracy in the hands of dictators: Mukhyamantri Chandru

Mysuru, April 12:- “Democracy is in the hands of those who are not trustworthy. Dictatorship can be seen in the name of democracy. It is misleading the democracy in the country,” said state secretary of Congress, Mukhyamantri Chandru at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Thursday.

“It was Congress that made India strong after independence. Who increased the literacy level from 7% to 80%? The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has changed the names of Congress government schemes and projects to some Sanskrit names and poses as if it is their own. Prime Minister Narendra Modi who opposed Aadhaar card and Goods and Services Tax (GST), when he was the chief minister of Gujarat got it implemented. Defence secrets have leaked in Rafale fighter jets deal. Where has the Rs 11,000 crore in petrol tax gone? Modi’s achievement is spending Rs 2,000 crore on his foreign trips. He is driving bullet train of lies,” he alleged.

Chandru questioned why BJP could not construct Ram Mandir in the last five years.

Chairman of Kannada Development Authority, Prof S G Siddaramaiah said that the Constitution is at stake in the country and alleged that Modi is trying to implement Manu Smruti in India.
