The inconvenience caused to the people due to demonetisation is gradually vanishing and the public will have a fruitful day ahead, said Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Vijaya Bank, Kishore Sansi.
He was speaking at the Inauguration of the renovated regional office of the bank in the city on Thursday. He said, “Demonetisation is a good step towards a strong economy. The move has shaken up anti-social elements in the nation. The major benefit of this move will be to the citizens for their welfare. There is inconvenience to the people and there are also reports about sufferings but now it’s gradually reducing and the cash transactions and ATM transactions in Vijaya Bank has increased by three folds. “
“I am personally visiting various states and regional banks to see if the guidelines of both the central government and the Reserve Bank of India are being followed. The initiative is being followed by the branches of the bank and we are also conducting video conferences to review the progress and to issue directions,” he added.
On the occasion, two girls of the city were adopted. Wheelchairs, stretchers were donated to the K R Hospital. “Adopted girls have been chosen from government schools and from economically backward families. The bank concentrates on their holistic growth and sponsors their education up to post-graduation,” said Sansi.
