“The revised allowance of Rs 2,000 for police personnel has brought some elief. The pay revision will be done according to the 7th pay commission’s report,” said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the Mandakalli airport on Saturday evening.
“Demonetisation of Rs 500 and 1,000 notes has come as a good decision. But the decision is untimely and unprepared. Unpreparedness of the central government has severely affected the lives of common people. It is tough to get change for Rs 2,000. Farmers and poor class are suffering because of this unscientific decision and it seems it is only publicity,” he said.
“As per RBI guidelines, cooperative banks, which the farmers use frequently, can’t accept old notes. This has come as a shocker to the beleaguered farmers,” opined Chief Minister.
Referring to BJP Shobha Karandlaje’s statement that Congress leaders are struggling to convert their black money into white, Siddaramaiah said it was a BJP leader who caught red-handed in such an incident.
