Mysuru, January 5:- With the arrest of a thief, the Devaraja Police have solved cases involving theft of mobiles and bikes. The police have recovered four mobile phones worth Rs 70,000 and two bikes worth Rs 60,000.
On December 31 last year, one Leela was going to an ATM on Ramavilas Road in the city to withdraw money. A miscreant, probably in the age group of 20 or 25, came on a scooter from behind and snatched her mobile and sped away. A case was filed at Devaraja Police Station. Subsequently, the police arrested Syed Wasim, 23, of Usmania Block in Ghousianagar. On interrogation, Wasim revealed his modus operandi.
Under the guidance of DCP Geetha Prasanna, Devaraja Division ACP Mariyappa, Inspector Diwakar, PSI Leelavathi, ASI Uday Kumar, constables Somashetty, Venugopal, Suresh, Nandish, Pradip, Veeresh Bagewadi and others conducted the raid. (MR/KS)
