Devotees pay tributes to Dr Shivakumara Swamiji

Mysuru, January 22:- Devotees paid floral tributes to the portrait of Dr Shivakumara Swamiji of Siddaganga Mutt who passed away on Monday.

Devotees gathered in front of 101 Ganapathy Temple at Agrahara here and paid floral tributes to the portrait of the seer on Monday evening.

“The state has become poor with the huge loss of Karnataka Ratna Dr Shivakumara Swamiji. We are unfortunate to lose him. I pray to God to give strength to the devotees at this hour of grief. We are privileged to live in his era,” said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) city secretary H V Rajeev.

Corporator Sowmya Umesh urged the government to confer Bharat Ratna award to Dr Shivakumara Swamiji.

Corporator M V Ramaprasad, former corporator M D Parthasarathy, secretary of BJP Women’s wing Lakshmidevi, Congress leader Raghavendra, Harish, Praveen and others were present. (SH, NGB)
