Mysuru, December 4:- The Prime Minister’s Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) was launched on Wednesday at the Apollo BGS Hospital here in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Welfare, Health and Family Welfare Department and Apollo BGS Hospital.
District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr R Venkatesh inaugurated the programme. Application forms were distributed to beneficiary mothers on the occasion. Over 50 women attended the programme.
PMMVY is a maternity benefit programme offered by the government of India under which a cash incentive of Rs 5,000 is provided to pregnant women and lactating mothers for first living child of the family in three instalments.
Deputy director of Women and Child Welfare Department Padma, Apollo BGS Hospitals vice-president (Operations and Unit Head) N G Bharateesh Reddy and others were present. (KS, NGB)
