Do good deeds to emerge as better leaders: Scribe Amshi

MDJA holds Snehabandha programme in city

Mysuru, October 2:- Snehabandha programme was organised by Mysuru District Journalists’ Association (MDJA) at Mysuru Press Club here on Monday.

“None of the parties has independently come to power in the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) elections. The term of the members of the corporation begins from the day of the election. Mysuru is the only corporation that made a pourakarmika as its Mayor,” said senior journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar.

“BJP has emerged as the largest party in the corporation for the first time. Many corporators have grown to become MLAs, MLCs. H S Shankaralingegowda, Vasu, Tanveer Sait and Nagendra are a few examples. Mysuru is a heritage city and holds importance nationally. Everyone should understand the rules and regulations of the corporation. The development of the city depends on you. Provide people with drinking water, good roads, drainage and library facilities. Respond to the problems of the public in time,” he advised the newly-elected corporators.

He asked them to read newspapers and the letters from the readers to the newspapers. He asked them not to become news but their good deeds to become news.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Dr Manjunath B H, Congress city president R Murthy, Janata Dal (Secular) city president K T Cheluvegowda and others were present. (MR/KS).
