Dodda Ganesh launches Mysuru leg of KPL

All remaining matches to be played in Mysuru, starting with Double Header on Saturday

Mysuru, August 25:- Former Indian cricketer Dodda Ganesh launched the Mysuru leg of Karnataka Premier League (KPL) – 2018 at a private hotel in the city on Friday.

Speaking to media persons, Vinay Mruthyunjaya, official spokesperson for Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) said “Due to inclement weather and persistent wet outfield the KSCA has taken a decision to move the matches from Hubballi to Mysuru with immediate effect.”

“With all the interest generated this year by our partners at Star Sports and on social media, we look forward to continuing this exciting tournament in this heritage city,” he added.

“I am very happy to see the way the KPL has grown over the years. Without doubt, the tournament provides the players a huge to exhibit their talent,” said Dodda Ganesh.

“I wish I had such a platform in my playing days. The players must make full use of the opportunity provided to them. I hope everyone who is a part of the tournament here will go back with more fond memories,” he added.

Balachander of KSCA in-charge of Mysuru said: “The Karnataka Premier League is in its seventh season now and we couldn’t be happier. When we were approached to host additional matches this season, we had no hesitation in saying yes. We will be hosting the third leg of the event in Mysuru from Saturday and the SDNR Wadiyar Stadium at Manasagangothri is fully geared up. We expect a large number of cricket enthusiasts to support all the teams.”

Kannada actor Ragini Dwivedi, the brand ambassador for KPL; Sudhakar Rai, KSCA zonal chairman, Mysuru and Balachandar, KSCA MC, member and zonal convener, Mysuru.

Saturday’s matches: Belagavi Panthers vs Ballari Tuskers, 2 pm,   Shivamogga Lions vs Bengaluru Blasters, 6:40 pm.-KK
