Mysuru, July 18:- Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda on Tuesday made a strange advice to the Police Department to not collect fine from college-going girls for any traffic violation especially during the drive against helmet-less riding.
He was discussing with the police officials at the Senate Hall of University of Mysore (UoM) on issues concerning Chamundeshwari Constituency. He requested the police not to collect any fine from college-going girls, saying they may not be carrying any money to pay the penalty. He also requested Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dr Vikram Amathe to instruct police officials not to misbehave with women. The strange request from the minister left the police officials slightly confused and that they had a hearty laugh is a different issue.
Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar, Superintendent of Police Amit Singh, DCP (law and order) N Vishnuvardhan, Dr Amathe and others were present. (MR/KS).
