Don’t use religion for political gains: CM

Mysuru, January 18:- The six-day long Suttur fair came to an end here on Thursday.  Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated JSS Jnana Sampanmula Central Science and Technology model making centre. Hebbet Ramakka CD was released on the occasion.

“This fair is a representation of social unity and harmony. India is a unique country. Kuvempu had said that child born is born as a universal man and then he narrows himself as he grows. If we try to become universal human beings, we will be an asset to the mankind. Basavanna had rightly said religion as kindness. One without kindness is not a human being. Bringing politics in between, using religion for the sake of politics is not right. Religion should remain a religion. Due to the blessings of the people of Mysuru district, we could form the government. I think that the people will continue to bless us,” the Chief Minister said.

Seer Shivaratri Deshikendra, ministers Dr H C Mahadevappa, H K Patil, Dr Geetha Mahadevaprasad, Tanveer Sait, MP Dhruvanarayan and others were present. (MR/KS).
