Prime News, Karnataka, Mysuru, June 7:- Dr Bagadi Gautham took over as the new Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru district here on Sunday (June 6). Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr B S Manjunatha Swamy welcomed the new DC with a bouquet.
Talking to reporters later, Dr Gautham said, “This is an expected turn and a big challenge. I shall try my level best to uphold the honour of the state government.”
He said, “All people’s representatives, officials and social organisations will be taken into confidence. Any district for that matter, there will be certain issues. Considering Mysuru is a big city, there could be more problems.” Dr Gautham said, “Transparency, pro-people administration will be my focus. All suggestions from any quarters will be welcomed though I can’t promise changes overnight.”
The new Deputy Commissioner had a discussion with his predecessor Ronhini Sindhuri, former MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag, Dr Manjunatha Swamy and Zilla Panchayat CEO.
Dr Gautham said, “I am a low profile official and would like to do my work in a smooth manner. In my previous postings, I got good responses from people. I had, in fact, met earlier DC Abhiram G Sankar in Mysuru in the past. I even got training for some time at the Administrative Training Institute.”
A 2009 IAS batch, Dr Gautham has served in Raichur, Chikkamagaluru, Davangere as DC and ZP CEO of Belagavi. (MR/KS)
