Mysuru, August 13:- District Epidemics Control Officer Dr S Chidambar explained the measures taken by the district administration to control chikungunya, dengue and other epidemics. He was addressing a press meet at Mysuru Press Club on Monday.
He briefed on the works done by the department during observation of Dengue Control Month in July.
“Malaria cases are not found in the district. Around 24 dengue cases were detected. To control epidemics, everyone has to keep their premises clean. Hygiene measures must be taken to control the breeding of mosquitoes. The flood situation in Nanjangud adds to rise in epidemics. Keep a distance from the tourists who have epidemics. Drink only boiled water. If you are ill, visit the hospital as soon as possible,” he added.
Secretary of Mysuru District Journalists’ Association Raghavendra, Bhimanna of District Epidemics Control Department and Rathnakumari were present. (KMR, NGB)
