Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar remembered

Mysuru, July 16:- Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar jayanti was observed at Ragaragini auditorium atop Chamundi Hills by Namma Karnataka Senapade. Priest of the temple, Dr Shashishekhar Dixit inaugurated the programme by paying floral tributes to the image of Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.

“Mummadi immensely contributed to the development of Mysuru. He was a great devotee of Goddess Chamundeshwari. His statue is also inside the temple. We will install his statue at Chamundi Hills,” he said on the occasion.

“Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar developed Mysuru as a model city and capital. He even constructed several palaces. District administration should observe Mummadi’s jayanti in the coming years,” said B R Nataraja Jois.

M N Doreswamy, Dr M G R Urs, Tejesh Lokesh Gowda, M D Prasad, M D Somanna, Mahadevaswamy, Shantharaje Urs, and others were present. (MR/KS).
