Drinking water problem will be solved soon: G T Devegowda

Mysuru, December 24:- District In-charge Minister G T Devegowda on Monday had called for a meeting of officials of the district to discuss water problems.

He said that he could not call the meeting of the officials earlier as he was busy in the Belagavi Assembly session. He said that the drinking water problem has increased in the district.

He was speaking at the meeting held at Jaladarshini Guest House here on Monday.

“Until Unduvadi drinking water project is implemented, there won’t be a permanent solution for the water problem. I have asked the managing director (MD) to come to Mysuru to discuss the water issue. The drinking water problem will be solved. I have discussed the development of K R Hospital at Belagavi session. I have discussed it with the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy as well. The hospital will be completely developed. I will discuss with the officials regarding development works,” he added.

“Around 1,200 vacant posts are being filled and 800 applications are being verified. Remaining 400 candidates will be finalised soon. Candidates will be selected according to UGC norms with the help of state government. Vice-Chancellors for the remaining universities will also be finalised,” he added. (MR/KS)
