Mysuru, March 18:- The pure drinking water unit constructed at Mudukutore village in T Narasipura taluk in 2008 is corroded due to lack of maintenance. Though there are cleaning units, due to unavailability of alum and chlorine, impure water is being distributed. The cleaning unit is getting corroded with no proper maintenance.

The unit was set up at a cost of Rs 24 crore with a tank of 5 lakh litres capacity to supply drinking water to 56 villages. It was inaugurated in 2013.

But the unit is supplying uncleaned water for the last several months. Villagers say that they are facing health issues after consuming the water. The unit set up by spending a huge amount of money is getting wasted due to the lack of willingness of officials. Villagers have requested the officials to take necessary actions at least now.
