Drought: BJP will intensify stir against CM Siddaramaiah, says BSY

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will intensify the agitation against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as he is more corrupt than the Congress, said state BJP President and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, here on Sunday.

Speaking to media persons in the city, Yeddyurappa said “Siddaramaiah is more corrupt than Congress party and the CD released by the Congress leaders, which shows himself and Union Minister Ananth Kumar, engaged in private conversation, is tampered, he added.

The former chief minister said that state government has completely failed in addressing the drought situation. The government and the chief minister are wasting time in mud-slinging instead of taking more relief measures for the affected farmers, Yeddyurappa added.

To cover up their misdeeds, the state government is unnecessarily blaming the central government, said Yeddyurappa and further added that ‘A report on the drought survey conducted by BJP would be submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon. “We will request the Prime Minister Modi to release more funds under a special package to tackle drought across Karnataka,” the BJP leader said.

Yeddyurappa said that “He will request his followers to celebrate his birthday by distributing fodder for cattle in the drought-affected areas instead of cutting cakes, offering garlands and other forms of celebrations.” Fodder centres will be opened wherever required to meet the farmers’ demands, he added.
