Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri Dasari visited Jayanagar Community Health Centre and gave the signal for the dry run on Saturday morning.
She said, “In the first phase, staff from the Health Department will be vaccinated. We have around 32,000 ‘corona warriors’ and on a priority basis, they will all be vaccinated followed by the public. The existing cold storage system will be used to store vaccines. Children and seniors suffering from serious health issues will not be vaccinated. The Centre will decide if all the people will be vaccinated or not. Vaccines will be used properly once the supply reaches us.”
The DC said, “We have no proper information on United Kingdom returnees who have tested positive for the coronavirus variant. If that is the case, they should be subjected to institutional quarantine. With no such information so far, I assume they are all negative.” (MR/KS)
