DSS protests sale of illicit liquor

Dalita Sangarsha Samiti and other association members staged a protest in front of the Excise office in the taluk and urged to take necessary steps to stop the selling of illicit liquor in Hunsur taluk and neighbouring villages.

DSS, Adjambava Sangha, CPI (M) and members of Sathya Foundation staged a protest and raised voice against excise officers who are alleged to be in support of illicit liquor sellers.

Speaking on the occasion, District Chief Secretary Ningarak Malladi said, “Selling of illicit liquor has become a large scale issue in the taluk which is resulting in deaths of many people in the region. The district administration and representatives of the taluk aren’t bothered about the issue. Necessary actions must be taken against those officers who are supporting those involved in selling illicit liquor,” he added.

D Kumar of Adijambava Sangha, Arasu Kallahalli, Uday, Sannayya, Shankare Gowda, Honnaiah and others were present.
