Pro-Hindu organisations have called for ‘Kodagu bandh’ on Thursday, July 14 in protest against the state government’s refusal to take action against Minister for Bengaluru Development K J George and two IPS officers, who have been accused of abetting the suicide of Deputy Superintendent of Police M K Ganapathy.
Speaking to reporters in Kushalnagar on Monday, Hindu Jagarana Vedike’s Kodagu district president Lala Aiyanna said that the state government must oust George from the cabinet and also place IPS officers A M Prasad and Pronab Mohanty under suspension. The government must hand over the case to Central Bureau of Investigation.
Calling for fight for justice, Aiyanna said that commercial establishments must down the shutters on the day. Plying of buses and other public transport will not be allowed during the bandh, he said. The Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Bajrang Dal too have extended support to the bandh call. – Agencies
