Dr Rao has become the State icon for the May 12 Assembly polls and in a promo by octogenarian appealing the denizens, was released by Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer Sanjiv Kumar here on Tuesday.
The CEO said the most respected nano scientist readily accepted the appeal by the State Election Commission to be its icon for Karnataka elections, and he would lead the way to educate the voters along with ace batsman Rahul Dravid and prominent Kannada actor Ramesh Aravind.
The video appeal from Dr Rao, will be aired across the country from Wednesday, he said, ‘’We are thankful to Dr Rao who will be a star campaigner in Karnataka elections, to enthuse all sections of voters to come and vote in the coming elections,’’ CEO Kumar told media persons. -(NAV, Inputs: Agencies)
