Mysuru, June 4:- “It is unfortunate that the educated class in the society which has the ability to think is getting addicted to smoking,” said senior journalist G S Jagadish. He was speaking at an awareness programme, organised by human rights protection committee at Kalkunike Hatimara beedhi of Hunsur on Sunday.
“Though the government has arranged enough awareness programmes on the ill-effects of smoking, deaths due to smoking have not come down. The government needs to ban tobacco and provide an alternative for tobacco crop,” he suggested.
