“Education is the right way to become a good civilian. Without education, one can’t be a good civilian,” opined former minister Prof B K Chandrashekhar here on Monday.
He was speaking after taking part in the senior students’ organisation of the Maharaja College and farewell session for the final year students at the Maharaja centenary auditorium.
“Education has made man civilised. Education doesn’t just improve one’s intellectual level, but also the standard of life. Maharaja College has contributed a lot to the field of education. Kuvempu, TeeNam Sri, G S Shivarudrappa, Chidanandamurthy, Ananthamurthy and so many are the alumnus of the college. They also taught here. It is the duty of the students to carry forward the legacy of the institution,” he added.
Additional Director General of police Dr Subhash Bharani, Principal of the college Prof C P Sunita, Administrative officer Dr Limbya Naik, working president of the association, Prof R N Padmanabh and others were present on the occasion.
