Mysuru, April 15:- “Education is essential for the development of the nation. Education has to go with social values,” said the In-charge chairperson of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) S P Shadakshari Swamy.
He was speaking at the valedictory programme of annual activities of student forums of JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science on Mysuru-Ooty Road here on Saturday.
“Many highly educated people are staying from society. It is because of lesser social interaction. When education gets closer to life, social interaction can be achieved,” he said.
“The number of people who get higher education in India is declining. Higher education is not only for the sake of jobs, but it will also help in expanding research field. JSS institutions have to make a memorandum of understanding with various organisations. Post-graduate students have to give emphasis to research,” said the member of KPSC Dr Lakshminarayan.
“JSS College has made a lot of progress in the past 10 years. Education should give importance to skills, job opportunities and technology,” said the Registrar of the University of Mysore Dr Lingaraja Gandhi.
