Eight, including BJP leader, sentenced to 3-year jail term

Mysuru,February 13:- The Mysuru Principal District and Sessions Court has sentenced eight people, including a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth leader, to 3-years imprisonment for attacking a bar owner. The BJP leader is Nanjangud general secretary, Dhanraj.

The incident had occurred in 2016. Dhanraj and his friends came to Akshaya Bar and Restaurant on the said day. After getting drunk, he and his friends kicked up a fuss before attacking the bar owner. His friends Natesh Kumar, Nanjappa, Devaraj, Murthy and Manju were part of the attack.

After the charges were proved against the eight accused, the Judge Ramachandra D Huddar, handed them 3-years imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 7500.

Dhanraj is close to Nanjangud MLA B Harshavardhan. (MR/KS)
