Mysuru, April 28:- Around 147 candidates will be contesting the state assembly from Mysuru district. On the last day of withdrawal, 36 candidates took back their nominations.
Earlier, 197 candidates had filed their nominations. Fourteen nominations were rejected during verification process.
The list of candidates who withdrew nominations is as follows:
P M Prasanna, independent candidate of Periyapattana, Dr H V Krishnaswamy (H D Kote), Yasmin of Namma Congress, M Ananda Kumar, H V Keshava Prasada, Dyavappa Nayaka, V V Prema Kumar, G M Mahadeva, Veerabhadra Swamy, Shivamahadev, Srinivas (Chamundeshwari constituency), N M Yogesh, Suryaprabha Jain (Krishnaraja constituency), S Jayaprakash (BJP rebel candidate), M S Ramya (BRMS), H S Bharati, Akhil Ahmed (Chamaraja constituency), Abdul Hannan, Anthony Vincent, M Lakshmikanth (KPJP), D Eshwar, J Krishna, K Nagendra, P Puttashetty, Puttaswamy, K Biligiri Rangaiah, T Mahadevaswamy, S Satish Kumar, Siddaraju, Subbaiah, Suresh (Narasimharaja constituency), Basavaraj, Mahesh, Natamurthy, B C Shantharaju (T Narasipura constituency).
To some extent, the BJP has succeeded in overcoming rebel activities in two constituencies in the district. BJP and JD(S) are still facing rebellious activities at some places, though Congress doesn’t have any problems so far.
Hosalli Venkatesh who has filed nomination as an independent candidate from K R Nagar, Chamaraja constituency JD(S) rebel candidate Harish Gowda, B M Nataraj, who rebelled against BJP and is contesting from Samajavadi party are some of the rebels. (MR/KS).
