Mysuru, April 26:- “There is a lot of difference between the earlier elections and the present one. This time, the election is between the good and the evil,” said All India Congress Committee (AICC) District Election Watcher and Kozhikode Lok Sabha member M K Raghavan here on Wednesday.
He was addressing a press meet at the Congress office on JLB Road.
“Earlier money and liquor used to be the talk of any election but this time around, it is the election between the good and the evil. As good always wins, Congress will come back to power,” he said.
“Congress candidates will win the election in all 11 constituencies of the district. It is the public who decide their next government. Various programmes introduced by the state government – Anna Bhagya and Ksheera Bhagya and other schemes will play a major role,” he opined.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is a clean and powerful leader. He worked for the development of the state. He fought against corruption and made the state corruption-free. If he comes back to power, he will further develop Karnataka,” Raghavan said.
“Congress will win 130 seats. When I was the watcher of 2013 elections in Hassan district; 3-4 agents told me that Congress will win 80-90 seats. But the party won 122 seats,” he added.
“Janata Dal (Secular) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are opportunists. Congress will make no coalition with anyone. JD(S) is identified as the party of father and sons. People have lost faith in it. How can they come to power?” he questioned.
District president of the Congress Dr B J Vijay Kumar, city president R Murthy and others were present. (MR/KS).
