Mysuru, May 15:- Who does not like elephants. One of the most wonderful creatures on the earth, the gentle giants are loved by one and all. Due to deforestation, there is a strong fear their numbers may be getting depleted. The forest department will be conducting elephants’ census at Nagarahole from tomorrow.
Speaking to City Today, ACF Belliappa said that the census will begin tomorrow. “The census includes transact line, elephant crap. The photographs of elephants will also be collected. Those who go for census have to take rope, compass, register book, drinking water and other essential items. The participants are not supposed to carry cell phones along with them. Around 63 members are taking part in the census. This census will give a clear picture about the number of elephants in the forest,” he added. (MR/KS).
