Mysuru, June 12:- “Environment Day celebrations should not be limited to a single day. On the contrary, every day should be celebrated as Environment Day,” said vice-chancellor of the University of Mysore (UoM) Prof G Hemanth Kumar.
He was speaking after inaugurating World Environment Day at the University Evening College in the city on Wednesday.
“We observe the Environment Day by planting saplings. Pollution is increasing rapidly. We have to do a green revolution to bring down pollution. Environment Day should be held throughout the year. We have to do a green revolution in all the schools and college campuses of the UoM in the next one year,” he added.
Registrar of UoM Prof Lingaraja Gandhi, Police Training School director Dharanidevi Malagatti, UoM Registrar of evaluation KM Mahadevan, resident editor of ‘Kannada Prabha’ newspaper Amshi Prasanna Kumar, principal of Maharaja College Prof CP Suneetha, principal of Evening College Dr Anjaneya and others were present.
