Environment should be protected for the generations to come: Varshini

Mysuru, December 30:- “Environment should be protected and handed over to the next generations. It is the responsibility of everyone,” said environmentalist Varshini.

She was speaking after inaugurating children’s programme organised by Makkala Kala Sahitya Parishat at Rotary Hall on JLB Road here recently.

“If we carelessly use the natural resources, nothing will remain for the next generations. We can at least speak what we feel. But animals and birds can’t even do that. It is our responsibility to take care of them as well,” she said.

Sadhaka Minugu Nakshatra awards were distributed to Mayank (Karate), Keerthi (Bharatanatyam), Theeksha Bharani (dance), Sakshi Shetty (drawing), Dhatri Umesh (chess and music), Abhayadatta (dance and karate), Shivani (dance), Urmila (makeup, editing), Jillian (drawing) and Sanvi Harish (drawing).

President of the Parishat Latha Mohan explained the purpose of the trust.

More than 10 children recited their poems at Poets’ summit on the occasion. Various talents of the children like mimicry, keyboard, flute, singing, dance, abacus, mridangam, etc., were exhibited on the occasion.

District Brahmana Mahasabha president Dr BR Nataraja Jois, Maddikere Gopal, MB Santhosh, KS Nagaraj, social worker Ramachandre Gowda and others were present. (MR/SH)
