The clash between Kichcha Sudeep and Puneeth Rajkumar is averted as the later’s movie Dodmane Huduga, has been postponed by a few weeks owing to the delay in post-production. Director Suri after completing the song shoot in four cities, had revealed that team was looking to release Dodmane Huduga in August 2nd week targeting the Varamahalakshmi Festival and Independence Day Weekend.
Recently, Kotigobba 2 producer MB Babu announced that the Sudeep starring Kannada and Tamil versions will release on August 12. Also, Gandhinagar sources have revealed that the distributors of Kotigobba 2 had already started theater bookings quoting August 12 as the release date. With these two announcements, it was expected that a big battle would take place in theaters, between the stars and their fans on the social media. But, the industry insiders felt that this clash should be avoided as this is not good for the industry; as already there are several other language biggies lined up for release on same day which will have an impact on Kannada movies. Just when the battle lines were being drawn, Suri has stated that the movie will not release on August 12. He has revealed that the post-production work is yet to be completed and it cannot be completed in 2-3 weeks’ time. Also, it is said that the portions featuring Ambareesh is yet to be completed.
