Mysuru, June 2:- “Epidemics are on the rise in areas where Dalits and pourakarmikas stay. Concerned authorities have not bothered to take any action so far,” alleged district convener of Dalit Sangharsha Samithi, Rajashekhar Kote.
He was addressing a press meet at the Mysuru Press Club on Friday.
“Vehicles which collect garbage hardly come. As a result, people are forced to keep the waste in front of their house. Diseases like H1N1, dengue, chikungunya and other diseases are on the rise in these colonies. Poor people are struggling to meet the cost of treatment and government is not extending any helping hand,” he said.
