Era of development has begun in Kollegala: MLA

“The state highway which connects Biligiri Ranganabetta and Bagalkot goes through Yalandur city. To construct a bypass road, the government has sanctioned Rs 150 crore,” said MLA S Jayanna.

He was speaking to the media after visiting the Dr B R Ambedkar community hall, which is being constructed in the city. “An era of development has begun in Kollegala constituency. Central government has sanctioned Rs 1400 crore for the work on national highway 209 and Rs 150 crore to develop state highway 57 as bypass road. It will help boost the economic activities of the town. Rs 40 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of drainage and sites will be given to the families who lost their homes during the developmental works of the national highway,” he said.

“Rs 70 lakh has been sanctioned for the roofing of the first floor of the community hall. Required amount for the completion of the work will be sanctioned from the MLA fund,” he added.

ZP Member J Yogesh, taluk Panchayat President Nanjundaiah, Revanna, Chikkamadu and others were present.
