Error in passbook leaves Nanjangud florist shocked

A flower seller from Hullahalli, Najangud Taluk, on Thursday was shocked to see her bank’s passbook showing a transaction of over Rs 5 crore.

Alarmed, the flower vendor, Neela was confused to see that such a huge amount of transaction had taken place through her account. Neela went to the kiosk of the Corporation Bank at her village to check whether the loan amount of Rs 15,000 was credited to her account. But to her shock, the entry showed Rs 5,100,000 had been credited to her account and the date of entry from 01/08/2016 to 31/10/2016.

Neela rushed to her home to inform it her husband who was also shocked and assumed that somebody had credited the amount. But later they realized it was a printing error. Corporation bank senior manager Rajashekhar Murthy said, “It had created confusion as there were double entries in the passbook from both the branch and kiosk.”
