Eshwarappa prefers watching Baahubali-2 to party meeting

Prime News, State (Bengaluru), May 29:- Simmering differences in the state BJP unit continue to haunt the party top brass. With only a year to go for the state Assembly elections , factionalism doesn’t augur well for the party.
Only a few days ago, the BJP national president Amit Shah had announced that the party would project state BJP president and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa as the chief ministerial candidate for the state Assembly polls whenever it is held next year. But senior BJP leader K S Eshwarappa continues to be a thorn in the flesh for the party. On Sunday, the rebel leader decided to skip the party’s core committee meeting. According to sources, Eshwarappa preferred watching Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali-2 at a multiplex along with his family members.
According to party sources, core committee meeting was chaired by Yeddyurappa and senior leaders including union minister Anant Kumar, D V Sadananda Gowda, R Ashok and Jagadish Shettar were present.
According to directions from Shah, Eshwarappa was entrusted with the task of leading the party’s OBC cell in the state on Saturday. Political pundits are of the opinion that the stand-off between Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa is unlikely to end now. As far as the state Congress unit is concerned, it would be more than happy if the stalemate in the BJP continues. (MR).
