Mysuru: Ganabharathi is organising a dance programme based on the compositions of Veene Sheshanna by Vidushi C N Anitha at 6 pm on January 11. The programme is being organised in memory of Swaramurthy V N Rao. She will be accompanied by Vidushi Nayana Shivaram on the nattuvangam, vidwan Tumukur B Shashishankar on the mridangam and vidwan A P Krishna Prasad on the flute. Vidwan Rakesh Sudhir will provide the vocal support.
Artiste profile: Vidushi C N Anitha is an accomplished artiste with a vision. She is groomed under the tutelage of Guru vidushi Rajeshwari and vidushi Krupa Phadke. She completed the Vidwat exam conducted by KSEEB with flying colours in 1999. A special craving for choreography inspired her to take up an intensive training under an able guru Karnataka Kalathilaka, Natyacharya K Murualdhar Rao in Pandanallur style of Bharathanatyam.
Her artistry is vibrant both as a performer and as a tutor. Anitha has carved a niche in the capital city. Blessed with tremendous skill in teaching, teaching dance is her passion, she is a perfectionist and her discipline is laudable. She has performed at many prestigious platforms. She has choreographed many dance dramas like Dashavathara, Ramayana Dharshanam, etc.,
She is the most sought-after resource person in the field of dance. She has been training a number of students in her institute ‘Nritya Vidya Peeta.’ She has imparted her knowledge to more than 10,000 students in a programme organised by NCERT. Since 3 years she has been invited by Paris University to guide the students in the Department of Dance. (MR).
