Farmer ends life over debts

Mysuru, March 6:- A debt-ridden farmer from Kupya village in T Narasipura taluk committed suicide by consuming pesticide here on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Basavaraj. He was having 1.27 acres of land at the village. He had taken Rs 10-15 lakh loan from Kaveri Grameena Bank. Being unable to repay the loan, the farmer committed suicide by consuming pesticide. He took the extreme step when no one was at home. He was taken to a private hospital in Mysuru but was asked to be taken to K R Hospital where he died without responding to treatment.
