Farmer leader arrested for misbehaving with woman cop

Mysuru, May 16:- Police have arrested the vice-president of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, Lokesh Raje Urs for misbehaving with a female cop.

Bettadapura Police of Periyapattana taluk arrested him after he had a verbal spat with a woman police cop when he went to inquire about a case. The woman filed a complaint and Lokesh was taken into custody late in the night.

Soon after hearing the news, farmers stormed the police station condemning the arrest of their leader and staged a protest. State president of Raitha Sangha Badagalapura Nagendra and others were present.

ASP and other police officers visited the spot to take stock of the situation. Farmers protested against PSI Balu and woman police constable and filed a complaint against them. (MR/KS)
