Farmer leaders condemn Uttar Pradesh incident

Prime News, National, Farmers, Mysuru, October 4:- Reacting to Uttar Pradesh’s incident in which eight people were killed, farmer leader Kurubu Shanthakumar has hit out at the central government. “Reports say a Union Minister’s son is responsible for the deaths. BJP leaders are behaving like goondas. The concerned minister should be ousted from power and his son should be arrested. If the authorities fail to act, we will be resorting to state-wide protests.”

During the farmers’ protest on Sunday (October 3), it is alleged Union Minister Ajay Kumar Misra’s son’s car ran over some farmers, leading to their death.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha president Badagalapura Nagendra has asked the government to file a criminal case against Misra’s son.

Nagendra said, “KRRS strongly condemns the incident which resulted in the death of many farmers. If Misra’s son is involved in the accident, he should be arrested immediately.”

The farmer leader said, “Uttar Pradesh and Haryana governments are out to suppress farmers’ protest. Farmers were caned in Haryana. In protest against this, we are going to hold a demonstration all over Karnataka.  A thorough probe should be ordered into the incident.” (MR/KS)
