Farmer, two daughters end life by consuming poison in Hunsur

In a shocking case, a debt ridden farmer from Hunsur consumed poison himself and made his two daughters do the same on account of which three of the same family died on Tuesday.

The farmer Subramani (42), his two daughters Sonika both aged ten years are the victims.

According to the sources, Subramani in a 2.5 acres of land from his father Dasegowda was growing ginger and tobacco. As the rain failed, he did not get the money invested on his land. Be­sides, he had made a loan of Rs 4 lakh from Karnataka Bank and Rs 8 lakh from a money lender which he could not pay back. Worried over this Subramani took extreme step and decided to consume poison.As it is summer vacation for children they were at their grand fathers home, Sum­bramani went to the place, took the children to farm and made them consume poison.

The villagers who notice the three admitted to JSS Hospital in Mysuru. Subramani and Soni­ka died on Tuesday and Monika who was in ICU died this morn­ing. Bilikere Police have regis­tered a case and the investiga­tion is on.
