Farmers demand the release of compensation for the acquired property

Demanding government to release compensation for farmers those lost their property six years ago during the land acquisition drive conducted by Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board, the farmers of Bilikere village in association with Satya MAS Foundation President and former Taluk Panchayath Member Satyanarayana threatened to stage a strong protest rally to Chief Minister’s residence.

Addressing media persons recently, Satyanarayana said that the farmers of Manuganahalli, Hulenahalli, Dallalu, Handanahalli, Ankanahalli, Doddebichanahalli, Chikkabichchanahalli, Haradanahalli, Shankahalli in Bilikere Hobli had lost 3488 acres of property during the land acquisition and not even a single rupee of compensation has been provided. Thus, farmers are helpless and are forced to commit suicide.

Farmers including Handanahalli Basappa, Puttaswamy, Puttabasappa, Basavaraju, Chikkanayaka were present during the press meet.
