Mysuru, May 8:- “The state government is spreading lies after lies regarding the farm loan-waivers. The government should immediately release a ‘white paper’ on this burning issue,” said state president of Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene Badagalapura Nagendra at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Wednesday.
“Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy claims that 6 lakh farmers are free from debts. Let the government release the ‘white paper’ immediately as to how many farmers benefited from the loan-waivers and what is the amount of loan that has been waived off,” he added.
“The state is facing drought condition. The government has not taken any measures to tackle the situation. The Chief Minister and other ministers are enjoying in resorts in the name of ‘panchakarma’ treatment,” Nagendra said.
Responding to the case filed against farmers by Pepsi company in Gujarat, he said that the farmers can’t be silenced by the multinational companies. Harassment of farmers in the home state of the Prime Minister is an insult to the nation, he added.
He also welcomed the statement of Kannada actor Darshan Tugudeep who sought scientific pricing of crops.
