Farmers donating food grains laudable: ST Somashekhar

Mysuru, April 24:- District in-charge minister ST Somashekhar inaugurated the initiative to collect food grains and vegetables donated by farmers at Jayapura village panchayat premises on Thursday.

“Public representatives are also directly purchasing vegetables and grains from farmers and supplying it to people in need. This will be helpful for needy people,” said the minister.

“It was GT Devegowda who helped me to grow in the cooperative field. Though our parties are different, we have no differences when it comes to development,” he said.

The minister held discussion with farmers and collected information regarding the status of their crops. He prayed to Goddess Chamundeshwari for the well-being of the farmers for donating crops in the hour of crisis.

The minister assured that the donated grains and vegetables will be supplied to needy people by the team of Deputy Commissioner.

The minister said that 8 among 80 Tablighis tested positive for coronavirus and their contacts are also being identified and tested. He said that the situation will come under control in Mysuru district.
