Farmers’ organisations demand hike in Kisan Samman Scheme

Mysuru, June 12:- State president of the Confederation of Farmers’ associations, Kuruburu Shanthakumar has urged the central government to increase the monetary support for farmers under Kisan Samman Scheme to Rs 12,000 and implement it on the lines of Telangana model.

Speaking at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Tuesday, he said that the scheme should be extended to all the farmers without any delay.

He said that the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Scheme should be amended in such a way to help all the farmers. He alleged the state government is anti-farmer for amending the land acquisition Act and urged it to drop it.

He said that the members of the association are attending the meeting called by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman in New Delhi to discuss farming issues ahead of the central budget.

Athahalli Devaraj, MB Chethan, Venkatesh, Bhujangappa, Javaraiah and others were present. (MR/KMR)
