Mysuru, January 10:- “Farmers should make use of APMCs (Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee) to avoid middlemen,” said MLA and BDA president K Venkatesh here on Tuesday.
He was speaking after inaugurating development works at Seeguru, Bhuvanahalli, Kogiluru, Gandhinagar, Charapura, and Periyapattana town at a cost of Rs 5.26 crore at the premises of APMC.
“Farmers have to use the storage units at APMCs to store their grains. Cooperation of farmers is essential to make the APMCs successful. To do development works, interest is required and not power. Opposition parties are spreading rumours against my works. I will answer them in the election. Congress will form the government again after winning the 2018 Assembly elections,” he added.
Taluk Panchayat president Nirupa, APMC president R T Revanna, B Mahesh, Chaluvaraya, Shanthappa, Mohan Kumar, Chikkaiah, Gayathramma, Abdul Azeez, P Mahadev and others were present. (MR/KS).
