Farmers stage bike rally condemning Land Reforms Act amendment

Mysuru, June 29:- Karnataka Rajya Raitha Virodhi Kaide Horata Samiti staged a bike rally condemning Land Reforms Act amendment on Monday (June 29).

The farmers from Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts carried out a bike rally from the Gun House in Fort Mohalla, holding sticks and urged Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala not to sign the state government’s commandment on Land Reforms Act.

“Small farmers are depending on agriculture. Due to the unavailability of the market for the crops during the Covid-19 lockdown, farmers are already having a tough time. Making use of this opportunity, capitalists will take hold of the farmland. This will further reduce agriculture in the state. Already, the land surrounding the cities have gone to capitalists and rich people. Farmers are working as labourers after losing their farmland. This Act should not be amended at any cost,” the protesters said.

Kuruburu Shanthakumar, Hosuru Kumar, Vidyasagar, Sudhir Kumar, Attahalli Devaraja, Guruprasad and others were present. (MR/KS)
