Mysuru, August 29:- Farmers staged a protest outside the government office on Tuesday when Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy was attending Dasara high committee meeting. They were protesting against Kumaraswamy over loan waiver.
They demanded the officials to allow them to meet the chief minister. They said that the bank officials are sending them notices to pay back the loans again and again though the chief minister has told that the loans have been waived off. “We have not received any letter on loan waiver. All the dams in the state are filled with water but the officials are not releasing water for farming. The so-called farmer-friendly chief minister is not meeting us,” they said.
They alleged that the chief minister and officials are making drama. Police tried hard to control the protesters.
Later, chief minister Kumaraswamy met the protesting farmers and assured them of looking into their problems. (MR/KS).
