Mysuru, July 2:- “The fourth phase of the protest of farmers condemning the Land Reforms Act amendment will be to lay siege to Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru,” warned state president of Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene Badagalapura Nagendra.
He was speaking at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Thursday (July 2).
“July 21 is being observed as Martyrs’ Day. This year, we will observe it as the day against anti-farmer laws. We urge the government not to implement the Land Reforms Act amendment and take back the APMC Act amendment as well. We will lay siege to Vidhana Soudha. We will create awareness among farmers in all villages. We will distribute pamphlets and organise seminars,” he added.
“Audio cassette of songs to create awareness among farmers, Dalits, labourers and consumers will be released. It will be played in all villages. Farmers will set up boards as land not for sale at all villages,” he added.
“If the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa does not announce the withdrawal of anti-farmer policies, we will protest wherever he goes. We have already staged protests in front of of the offices of MLAs and ministers. Public representatives have also assured of joining with us. We will protest against the ministers and MLAs who don’t join us,” he said.
“Protest will be staged against the Act at Kallahalli at 10 am on Friday. A mega protest will be held in Mandya on July 6. Seminar and discussion will be held at Raichur on July 10. State executive committee meeting will be held at Hosapete of Bellary on July 11,” he added.
